Is quality sleep these days really possible? Adopt these 7 tips to get a better night and improve the quality of your sleep.

“Sleep, but why? I want my days last longer! I don’t have time to sleep…” 🙅‍♀️ 🙅‍♂️🚫

Raise your hand if you can relate! 🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♂️

Quality sleep these days, is it really possible?

Between your morning routine, work, the commute home, family, kids, friends, activities… we don’t have much time left to sleep. So the real question is: what’s the point? My parents always told me that sleeping 8 hours was important, but why? I did my research to break it down for you! This is why it’s so important to sleep well. At the same time, you’ll find my 7 tips for better sleep.

SLEEP – WHY? FOR WHO? FOR ME! 💤💤

First, sleep is good for the body and the brain. It’s a fact that while we sleep, we relax and our body takes the opportunity to regenerate. It will use this rest to replenish dead cells and replace them with new ones. Also, the brain takes this time to sort the information received throughout the day so that it won’t be overloaded the next day. Basically, if we sleep enough, our body will work better and allow us to have a better memory, and to be more alert.

TIP #1 EXERCISE

Yoga, running, the gym, Zumba… do something to expend your extra energy late in the day. Find your activity, the one that is good for you and that will allow your body, as well as your mind, to calm down.

TIP #2 🚫 COFFEE IN THE AFTERNOON

Avoid stimulants such as coffee, tea, etc. It’s always better to drink water; if you are sensitive to caffeine and theine, try to get away from it as much as possible in the afternoon and evening. I, for instance, now opt for lemon water!

TIP #3 EAT EARLIER  🍽

Ideally, don’t go to bed right after eating. Get used to waiting about two hours before going to bed. This will allow your body get a head start in its digestive process, for a more healing sleep.

TIP #4 PLAN YOUR MORNINGS

Lay out your clothes the day before, as well as your breakfast/coffee, and get your lunch together in the fridge to streamline your morning routine. As a result, you won’t need to think about all this once you’re lying in bed.

TIP #5 BEDTIME ⏰

Like babies, we should try to go to bed at the same time every day to develop our own sleep routine. Why? Because routine frees the mind and makes sleep easier. Be consistent in your bedtime and your wake up time to optimize the quality of your resting time.

TIP #6 🚫 TELEPHONE + READING & WRITING 📚📓

Stay away from your smartphone, tablet, computer… all electronic devices. The screen appears to have a negative effect on sleep. That’s why we suggest you set it aside on your bedside table about 30 minutes before bedtime. If you want, to free your mind, opt for a little reading before closing your eyes. If you have many things on your mind and invading your thoughts, write your ideas and thoughts in a journal so that you can go to bed with a blank mind.

TIP #7 LIE DOWN AND BREATHE

Lie down in your bed, under the blanket and in the most comfortable position. Release the day’s tension, relax the muscles in your body, from your feet to your head. Take deep breaths. Try to inhale for 5 seconds and exhale for 5 seconds to completely relax.

Good night everyone ! 💤💤
